| Dal Fry |

| An authentic Punjabi recipe. Ingredients
- 1 cup toor dal
- 2 chopped onions
- 1 pinch garam masala
- ½ tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 pinch turmeric powder
- 1 pinch coriander powder
- 1 pinch asafetida
- 1 lemon’s juice
- 3 tbsp oil
- salt to taste
For paste
- 9 cloves garlic
- 5 green chilies
- 1 tbsp ginger paste

- Soak toor dal for 1 hour and cook till soft.
- Heat oil in a tava and put the paste in it and fry for 1 min. on a high flame.
- Now add chopped onions to it and fry till light brown.
- Put cumin seeds, asafetida, turmeric powder, salt, coriander seeds, garam masala, red chili powder and lastly the cooked dal.
- Stir them all well for 2 mins. Add lemon juice and garnish it with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice of your choice or chapatti and curry.
